This unit was working fine but it was terribly dirty. I pulled it apart to clean it up (still not perfect) and I think that I might have broke the wire to the temp sensor (there is no continuity and I believe that there should be) now when I plug it in it just shows ERR on the LCD display. It looks like somebody recently changed the waffle plates, they look good on the cooking surface I am selling this either for repair or for parts for your maker.
I am a remanufacturer of office products but when I opened this one to service it I discovered that it is virtually brand new and didn't need any attention whatsoever. I doubt that it has sharpened more than 10 pencils including the ones that I used to test it. I sell a lot of pencil sharpeners and usually steer clear of the razor blade style but this one is different. Most people will probably buy it for the retro/ vintage qualities but this is actually a very high quality Japanese engineered unit and works great. the original box is damaged (missing the top) but I will include it with the sale anyway in case you want it.
