RadStar RS300 Continuous Radon Monitor. Very lightly used. Like new! Although the last calibration was done in 2012, the unit has been stored in an environment with only background Radon levels and it is working perfectly. Data communication cable is included and has been fully tested to work perfectly with the unit. Recent test results (in July 2021) show an average 0.1pCi/L background Radon level. If you are buying this for personal use at home to reduce the Radon level as low as possible towards zero or the background level, there is no need for a calibration. If you are a professional, you would need to have this meter re-calibrated to provide certified results for your customers. Professional Radon mitigation would only help to reduce the indoor radon level below the EPA level of 4.0pCi/L. If you want to achieve much lower (safer) levels, you may need to experiment with different ventilation techniques/capacities and have Radon level monitored closely. This can be very inconvenient if using professional services. This meter was originally bought for this purpose and worked perfectly. It was actually found out that the Radon levels varies throughout the day. With this information, you can actually control your ventilation at the time mostly needed to minimize energy consumptions.
