Vintage Tool Steel Handbook Vintage 197+ Page ALLEGHENY LUDLUM STEEL CORPORATION hardcover book is titled "TOOL STEEL HANDBOOK" and measures approximately 7-5/8" x 10-5/8".  The title, company logo, &tc. appear on the front cover and spine in silver lettering.  The Preface reads in part as follows: The aim of the Tool Steel Handbook is to make available in as compact form as possible, a relatively complete picture of the Allegheny Ludlum tool steels, their properties and treatments and the special forms in which they are available. The following six chapters, each with numerous sub-categories, appear in the book: TYPES, PROPERTIES and APPLICATIONS; SELECTING the PROPER STEEL; TOOL STEEL PRODUCTS; CARMET CARBIDE METAL; FORGING and CASTING DIVISION PRODUCTS; THE WORKING of TOOL and HIGH SPEED STEELS. Numerous Tables, Charts, Graphs, Illustrations, Figures, Reference Tables, &tc. are included throughout to accompany the text.  Listings of company products and mills-offices-warehouses appear at the back. The Vintage Book is copyright 1951, Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and remains in Very Good to Excellent Condition for its Considerable Age.  Noted for accuracy only are two very small dents or areas of wear along the bottom edge of the front cover only likely due to many years of past shelf storage.  The book pages are in Excellent Condition.  Please see accompanying photographs.
