RCA 5651A, Cold-cathode, Glow-discharge Voltage Reference: 85V @ 2.5mA, Low-noise, High-stability, NOS/NIB These are a rare version in that they have ceramic "micas" top and bottom and are in an envelope some 0.4"/10mm taller than usual. They have been cryogenically treated in-house using our proprietary method you can read about here.    These are covered by our one year sliding scale warranty, described here. A consolidated data sheet that includes data from Tung-Sol, RCA and Raytheon  and also provides several voltage regulator designs is available here.  Note that a Supertex LND-150, 500V, N-chan, depletion-mode MOSFET,  typical Idss = 2-3mA  makes an ideal current source for this tube.  Run this way it is possible to shunt the 5651  with a capacitor some 5 times larger than the .02uF value recommended in the data  sheets and achieve a voltage reference with only microvolts of noise and  extremely good long term stability.
