One of my favorite vise's , this classic 4" Columbian is a real thing of beauty. This light to medium duty vise  is all welded steel construction . I began the resto on this by stripping it down to bare metal. The slide still had mill scale on it from manufacturing. I used a braded wire wheel to remove the mill scale and it really brightened up the slide from  the dull gray. I used a "Cut Ruby Red " finish on this vise. 3 coats and baking on the finish , I think it finished very well. For the swivel base I used a hammered Pewter for contrast. I think it really helps set off the whole tool!  The swivel lock and handle were cleaned and  polished to a high shine. I had a local sign company replicate the original decals out of vinyl and I think they nailed the image perfectly . Bottom line folks is this is a flawless tool ! I'm not sure a vise can get much nicer.
