Product Description The Safety Girl SC-282 Navigator safety glasses have untinted polycarbonate lenses with UV400 protection and an anti-scratch coating, a pink polycarbonate wraparound frame, and wide temples, and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use as protective eyewear. The lenses help protect the wearer's eyes by filtering out ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) light with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers (nm). The lenses have an anti-scratch coating for durability, and both the lenses and the frame are made of polycarbonate to resist impact. The wraparound frame and wide temples help increase side protection, and a built-in nose piece helps create a secure fit. This pair of safety glasses has been manufactured to comply with American National Standards Institute/ International Safety Equipment Association (ANSI/ISEA) Z87.1 and European Standard (EN) 166 personal eye protection standards for quality assurance. Protective eyewear, such as safety glasses or goggles, is worn to shield eyes from hazards, including flying particles, heat, chemicals, and harmful exposure to light. Face shields and helmets may be also be used with protective eyewear, especially when welding or working with molten materials, to provide additional protection. Eyewear is sometimes designed to wrap around the side of the head to extend protection to the periphery; the extent of this protection is measured as "base lens curve." Base lens curve has a typical range of 6 to 12, with a 6 being on the flat end of the scale and a 12 providing the maximum amount of wrap around the head. Protective eyewear is commonly used in the manufacturing and construction industries, among others.
