This is a thin scintillation material rod.  It is about 2 inches long and a mm or so thick. It glows slightly orange under UV light and was made for portable plutonium detectors that used PIN photo diodes instead of PMT's. It appears to be some kind of crystal or glass, Likely Li:Ce:glass. This material is pretty exotic and hard to find. I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
