Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), is an anionic detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products like shampoos, toothpaste, dish detergent, laundry detergent, etc.As an inexpensive and very effective foaming agent, SLES is also used in many cosmetic products for their cleaning and emulsifying (i.e., allowing you to mix oil and water) properties. It behaves similarly to soap, but better because it works equally well in hard water.  SLES is the active ingredient in baby shampoo because it does not irritate the eyes as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) does. No shipping charge for additional pounds. Due to breakage, we now ship in plastic bottles. For long term storage of all the liquids we sell, you might want to transfer them to a glass bottle upon receipt.
