Item Name: Soeks Quantum Description: Originally bought direct from the manufacturer through the SOEKS USA store, this is a high precision, fast-reading Geiger Counter containing two SBM-20-1 tubes. It has been field tested against several sources including radium dials, depression glass, uraninite ore, fiestaware, and a calibrated thorium source. It is extremely accurate. The unit itself is in practically brand-new shape, having been stored in a climate-controlled environment inside of a sealed plastic bag when out of use. The buttons are still responsive and there are no visible scratches on the housing. The only sign of use is some smudging from handling. (Some photos may appear slightly discolored due to lighting. The actual product is still bright white.) Smudges could most likely be cleaned off using chemicals such as rubbing alcohol or bleach, but I preferred not to do so at this time for fear of damaging the casing. The main difference between this unit and a factory one is that the stock rechargeable batteries that came with it have been swapped for Panasonic Eneloop Pro high-capacity batteries. These are some of the finest AAA batteries on the market and have roughly doubled the amount of time the unit can go between recharges at the cost of only 15 extra minutes of time to go from 0 to full. The batteries are easily replaceable should this modification not be desired. Included: All components besides the stock batteries are included. (Batteries have been upgraded.)
