A robust and versatile platform, SmartBits features test applications for xDSL, cable modem, IPQoS, VoIP, MPLS, IP Multicast, TCP/IP, IPv6, MPLS, routing, SANs, and VPNs. The LAN-3101A is a 6-port, full/half duplex, Ethernet/Fast Ethernet SmartMetrics module for the SMB-600 or SMB-6000B chassis. Two of these modules (12 ports) may be used in an SMB-600 chasis. Twelve LAN-3101A modules may be used in an SMB-6000B chassis, providing a total of 72 SmartMetrics ports. Up to 64K flows on each stream via IP source or destination addresses. Capture: Full line-rate capture and analysis; Frame Length: 18-2,006 bytes; Frame selection: entire frame only; 6500 frame capture buffer for frames. It is designed to work in the SmartBits® SMB-600 and the SMB-6000B chassis. The principal function of the SmartMetrics LAN-3201B is to test the performance and interoperability of Layer 3 devices under typical or extreme traffic load conditions. The module can also be used to test Layer 2 functionality and performance. The LAN-3201B is capable of full wire-rate traffic generation and analysis, and can generate the equivalent traffic of one fully-loaded LAN with up to 8,192 end-user devices. SmartMetrics operation follows the IEEE 802.3z draft specification. This module requires one GBIC interface ACC-6002A (multi-mode) or ACC-6003A (single-mode).
