This offering is for one of the Rarest Elgin engines you would hope to find in the Elgin line, pre Maytag. The 1/4 HP Elgin Engine and Wheel Works "Left Hand" Engine. Left hand meaning everything about this engine is backwards from the usual Elgin.

Here we have an unusual home made garden tractor with a Maytag washing machine engine on it. I have had the engine running, but the fuel check valve is sticking so that will need to be cleaned, otherwise the engine is in good condition, there is an old weld on the front part of the base just in front oh the kick-starter, but it was very well done. The tractor will need a drive chain, belt, and a pulley on the axle, but those are all easily available.
