Hello, This piece was made by Brunner & Lay and has been around since 1882. From the beginning, Brunner & Lay Manufactured Pneumatic and Hydraulic Tools and Accessories for the Construction, Mining, Demolition Industries and Tools for Sculpting and is currently still in business today. It measures 12" Long by 1 3/4" by 2" and was made from VERY GOOD STEEL.

This is a 3 lb drop forged steel wedge in used condition. It appears to have been used for masonry work but could be used for log splitting if it was sharpened a little. It is solid with no cracks.
