Another item found in garage from family estate cleanout. Not sure of age. May have gotten wet because the tip of item looks to have a little rust but probably will wash off. On front it says: TAP. Made in USA. Vermont American. Professional Quality. Hard Chrome Finish--Rust Resistant. On back it says: How To Use A Tap. A tap is used to cut an internal thread. First a hole is drilled in the piece to be  threaded (drill size on shank of tap.) The tap is held by the square in a tap wrench and is made to enter the hole by turning in a clockwise direction for regular threads. Turns of from 1/4 to 1/2 revolutions should be made and then the action reversed to break the chips. This allows the tap to cut freely and prevent breakage. Below this, it says: FREE REPLACEMENT POLICY. If a Vermont American tool does not give the user complete satisfaction it will be replaced free of charge. Hope someone can find use for this. Any questions, feel free to contact me and thanks for looking!!!
