This auction is for a used Tektronix 2465B in fully functioning condition. It is cosmetically "Mint" and would serve equally well on a competent bench or in any museum collection. You get the scope with its attached accessory bag and captured power cord, but there are no probes, manuals or covers. Externally, it is very clean and short of a light scratch on the bottom of the case, it is undamaged. The CRT blue filter is clear and glossy, with very few if any visible marks. The scale illumination works well as can be seen in the pictures. All LED's light up. All push- and rocker-buttons are positive and click or latch without resistance or malfunction. On the back, the original captured power cord wraps around the feet nicely, as it originally came from the factory. The traces are bright and sharp, with plenty of brightness available that can be easily adjusted by their corresponding knobs. It is 99% steady and sharp, but some fanatic can probably tune it to be perfect - I am happy with it. Since the knobs are connected to encoders, there is a log before each use but they all work. Delay timebase works also. The power on hours are as stated in the title: 3744, with only 283 power on cycles (picture shows 280 but I powered it on and off 3 more times since the picture was taken). A little simple math says the scope had been used on average for 13 hours once every working day over just 14 months. I do not know the last time it's been calibrated but it compared well with my LeCroy Waverunner. Internally, the all-important A5 board does not show leaky caps or corrosion in the normal places. The RIFA X2 caps in the PSU show a little crazing in the case bodies but there is no evidence of moisture creeping in, the most likely cause for it to fail. Datecodes on the hybrids are from 1995 and so is the Dallas NVRAM. U800 does not show any sign or overheating or damage. The fan has been gently cleaned of surface dust, along with the case interior. Perhaps performance will be even better if the caps (which are still all original) were replaced, but the scope is working just fine to my eyes, so I leave it completely original and untouched. Since I need room for another instrument on the bench, it is time for this beauty to go to a caring new home as I believe nice ones like this don't come around very often any more. Please review the pictures – they say it all.
