Behind every Tiny House there is a story; here's ours. As a bonus, HGTV has offered to cast the buyers in a Tiny House Hunters episode to share their Tiny House Story.  They called the house one of the most unique Tiny Homes they have seen.  Happy to share producers information to verify.  My wife, son, dog, cat and I lived in a 320 square foot Tiny Home in Lincolnton, NC from 2005 until 2012. My wife is an executive with Timken and we got transferred to Canton in December 2012. We sold our Tiny Home and 5 acres after 2 days on the market. We only had a month to relocate so we bought a Historic Registry Home in Canton and remodeled it under the belief that we would be moving back to North Carolina in three years. This winter I started building a new tiny home here in Canton to move to North Carolina this summer. As fate would have it, my wife gets a promotion and we are staying in Canton at least 3 more years. Hmmm! Tiny home now for sale.  I built this Tiny Home to address problems we had with our previous Tiny Home. We needed better security because I traveled a lot before I retired and my wife wanted more storage. This build started with a 40 foot high cube shipping container from the Port of Cleveland that I had trucked in and placed in the rear parking lot of a restaurant I own in Canton. 40 feet long, 8 feet wide, 9.5 feet high. I cleaned the inside of the container and framed the walls with 2x6's, the ceiling with 2x4's. I then ran a regular 200 amp home breaker box and meter base. All the wiring is up to code (no 14 gauge anywhere for you electricians). After that I installed a brand new Rheem 40 gallon hot water heater and ran CPVC in pipe chases for easy access. The next step was to spray the entire container with closed cell spray foam insulation and then top with R-13 Fiberglass bat insulation. (Extremely well insulated and super easy and cheap to heat and cool) I installed a brand new GE Zoneline AC and Heat Unit (like you see in hotels) which does an incredible job. Heats and cools quickly! Next I covered the walls and ceilings with pine boards and corrugated metal roofing. The style is Industrial Rustic. The bathroom has a full sized toilet, sink and shower with stone floor. The kitchen is a 1966 Dwyer 400. It has been completely refurbished and works perfect. It has a sink, refrigerator , freezer, 2 burner cooktop and microwave oven all in one closeable unit. There is also a convection oven with a rotisserie. There is an LG Washer and Dryer Combo as well. There is tons of storage in 3 panels of repurposed lockers I got when they tore down the Hall of Fame. There is a queen sized storage bed with 10 drawers. There is also a cool kitchen table repurposed from an oak door. The bathroom doors are from the early 1900's. There are tons of cool things about this house because I built it for my family.     Outside it looks like a shipping container. It's suppose to. When you open the 2 large doors on the end and the light floods in the wall of glass, then you know what it really is. There are tons of cool features I'm sure I forgot to list here.
