These receivers seamlessly transition, in real time, between centimeter level accuracy, based on RTK/OTF carrier phase data, and sub-meter accuracy, based on L1 C/A code data. Interfacing: The 7400MSi’s capability of computing low latency, centimeter level positions five times per second make it the ideal engine for dynamic guidance systems. Interfacing to PC-computers, external processing devices, or control systems is also a critical requirement. The 7400MSi has four serial ports which facilitates this. The receiver can be controlled through any one of these ports using an application file. The application file interface enables a user to completely program the receiver operations with a single command. Real-time kinematic operation, the active coordinate system and all other receiver operations can be set using the application file interface. Streamed outputs are sent from the receiver to give detailed information which includes: position, quality assurance numbers and tracked satellites. Coordinates can be output in user-defined or pre-loaded datum and map projection reference frames. The receiver also includes a one pulse per second output for precise timing of other interfaced equipment. Industrial Packaging: Trimble is the industry leader in providing practical, lightweight, field mobile land survey systems. The digitally recorded data from these tests is now being replayed through laboratory vibration tables in the process of validating prototype components. An analysis of customer requirements was also undertaken. Some of our best feedback was obtained from sitting for hours at a time on shovels and graders with experienced operators. Details of where displays should be mounted and what information would be of use was discussed. Surveyors, man- agement, system integrators and equipment manufacturers also played a vital role in the industrial design of the system. The machine guidance system being developed by Trimble consists of three ruggidized modules. The core module includes the 7400MSi GPS receiver, radio/modem and processor. The display module provides graphical guidance to the operator and the antenna module a durable solution for the high shock and vibration.
