Vintage Antique Band Saw Blade found in an old factory that made ammo boxes for the war effort in Workld War II. Unfortunately this old factory is going to meet the wrtecking ball soon and we are trying to salvage some of the history and artifacts from this really neat old factory. This bandsaw blade was found in the old sharpening room. I have no way of knowing its age. I have salvaged 1/2 dozen of the these used rusty (relics) blades. This blade was used on a early 1900's Yates Model; 283 Bandsaw resaw. It was huge with a 25 horse motor that only turned 600 RPM. Talk about power! UNfortunately the Yates machine had surpassed its useful lifespan and had to be sent to salvage. No way OSHA would ever allow anything like it, especially its vintage age, to be in production today. Enough with the history............................(tears) These blades is from R. Hoe & Co. of 2916 Lomb Ave. in Birmingham, Alabama. They professed to be America's oldest Saw manufacturer. This balde specs as follws; 4 1/2 blade by 22 ft long, 19 Guage, Hand=Left, tooth space is 1 3/4 inch, tension 30', Die B-D, back 1/32". In have no idea what all this means, but it says it all right on the box.
