FREE SHIPPING IN THE CONTINENTAL USA!!! This item will ship either USPS Parcel Post mail, or FedEx ground - MY CHOICE! Here for sale I have this antique Briggs and Stratton model Y kick start motor. It is in unrestored condition and covered in dirt and grime, has lots of scuffs and scratches, there is surface rust all over, and paint loss. There may be some minor dents and dings and deeper scratches. This is a used motor! It is not mint not even close!! The kick start mechanism seems to work when I go through the motions by hand. It meshes with the starter gear nicely both directions. I've never kicked it with my foot and actually tried to start the motor so I don't know how it will act that way, but by hand it seems to be working. To me the motor feels like it has enough compression to start, and I didn't notice anything binding or acting strange when I was kicking the motor over (by hand). It even has spark! I haven't actually looked at the spark plug to see if it's sparking, but I did grab ahold of the spark plug wire and kicked the motor over and it gives a nice strong shock. I did it a few times to make sure that's working and I believe it's making plenty of spark to start. BUT you will want to replace the spark plug wire, it has been cut and a piece sectioned in and bare wire is exposed (see close-up with my finger pointing at the bare wire). I don't have the gas tank. I only have what you see in my photos. I have never put gas in this motor or tried starting it. I don't know if it will run for you as it is, or not. I don't know how many hours use this motor has seen but I will assume a lot. This motor is TOTALLY UNTESTED by me and offered for parts or repair only. Maybe it will run, maybe not. Maybe it needs to be rebuilt. Go on the assumption that it needs to be rebuilt to be safe. NO GUARANTEES!!! What you see in my photos is what I have to offer and nothing more.
