DESCRIPTION: Type: Vintage Micromho Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Part/Model # Hickok 600 Condition: New case upholstery new handlers latches replace all necessary resistor and all capacitor. missing the roll data paper clear plastic cover. I all ready order one, just in case This auction is for a vintage hickok 600 Tube Tester in reasonable condition. Power turn on and meter is stable.working condition the shorts test is working but it need to be adjustment for sensitivity it turn on in 5-4 just one side only if there was a short on tube it will glow on both side, this is base on what i have found online, I' am only a repair guy for 30 years not a tube tester expert i'm familiar with it but I don't have all the right tools to do the job right, my calibration is best to my knowledge and unfortunately there isn't much information for model 600, I have calibrated b/k, Hickoc 539c 6000-A military and 600A but this 600 without the right calibration information is to hard. This tube testers is reading close to my Hickok 6000 calibrated for GM which is Micromhos Dynamic Mutual Conductance . I have post a picture with using 6L6 on a Hickok 6000 reading is 7000 on 15k micromhos and on the Hickok 600 reading is 6550 on a 15k Micromhos reading which is very close, both tester has a minimum of 5000 micromhos. I did try a 12AX7 and a 5Y3 and is not reading the same there is a 10-15% off. This usually happen because they are complete different testers. I have work on it and repair few wires and solder, clean all terminal check grid bias volt,plate volt meter bridge balance and replace all necessary resistors and all capacitors. I have not replace or adjust or clean the English Potentiometer which is the final calibration the need it fortunately I don't have any more a variable isolation transformer which is to get a good calibration you can get better of course more precision if you decide to have this calibrated ( if need ). I replace the R6 and the R7 which is a 8.5k resistor wire wood adjustable with a 8k and fortunate is all ready adjust to max. I couldn't find one on a reasonable price by having this resistor change to a 8.5k or 10k you will get a better reading on bias volt which is reading 45 and it should be 39 +- 1 and having the bias at 22 is reading 3.9 volts and it should be at 3 volts, over all this high reading will effect the mutual conductance reading by - 5-10% The bad thing about this tester that it will go for Parts or repair, no return on vintage item or refund (sold as is ) Please pictures Hickok 6000 tube tester is only to get a good idea of the condition and that reading so is not in the deal.
