Welch Model 1402 Duo-Seal Vacuum Pump, 5.6 CFM, Belt Welch Duo Seal 1402 1/2 HP ,Vacuum Pump      Heavy duty Two stage Rotary Vane Belt driven Vacuum pump, Model 1402 Duo- Seal by Sargent Welch, very well known for their vacuum pumps for many years.  Welch started in 1880 and they are still  well known for their popular, rugged backing pumps. This one is powerful for its size due to the advantages of belt driven pumps.  It operates with a 1/2 HP reliable thermally protected GE motor, at 8.4 A, 115 V with a heavy duty power cord.  Pumping speed is 5.6 CFM to a lower limit of 0.1 microns.          One of the advantages of belt driven pumps is that they can be run slower with more power to the pump and to minimize maintenance costs, motor size required,  and down time. The cost of a used one of the same model is over $1599 and over $3000 new.  Its overall size is about 19"L x 11-1/2" W x 15" high with a heavy duty mounting base and footpads.  Excellent for connection as a backing pump for diffusion pumps, turbomolecular pumps, or as a roughing pump for many different types of instruments including GC/MS, Auger, ESCA, SIMS, UHV, SEM, Vacuum ovens, Vacuum equipment, Sputtering systems, etc  ***** NOTE: We ship all our pumps without oil.  They must be filled with vacuum pump oil before use. #594, 1413
