Overview This auction is for one MK5 5-axis stepper motor controller and five (5) MM160  bipolar 3.5A/phase microstepping Stepper Motor Drivers.  The MM160 uses the TB6560 bipolar driver.  Motor power is routed to each MM160 allowing different motor drive voltage to suit the needs of different stepper motors.   The MM160  is a single axis 3.5A/phase bipolar microstepping Stepper driver based on the TB6560 driver.    The MM160 supports full, half, one eigth and one sixteenth micro stepping.  The MM160 is capable of 24-35V operation.  Logic power of 5VDC must be supplied to the board.   DIP switches set driver current, decay mode and torque setting.  The MM160 is designed for high performance bipolar stepping applications.   The outputs of the TB6560 are protected by Transient Suppression Diodes as is the Stepper Input power.  The MM160 is ideal for small mill and lathe CNC applications.   The MK5 is a 5-axis stepper motor breakout controller with a DB25 PC parallel port compatible port.  The MK5 routes parallel port signals to the 5 stepper motor driver ports.  The MK5 has 5 limit switch inputs or 4 limit switch and one eStop input and two auxiliary open collector outputs.  The MK5 requires an external 9VDC power adapter.  The MK5 supplies power to the MM160 drivers.  The MK5 is designed to accept a variety of driver boards such as the MM120, MM130, MM133, MM160 or MM220.   The heat sinks in the pictures are not included but can be purchased seperately in other auctions.  There are two different style of heat sinks - individual black anodixed heat sinks and a single solid heat that attaches to all four MM160's.  The solid single piece heat also holds all four MM160's firmly in place.  The heat sinks drop the temperature of the TB6560 by about 35-40C and are recommended.  This heat sinks are custom CNC'd hence their price.  We have an extruded heat sink in development which should reduce the cost substantially but these will not be available until late October 2011.   The MK5 and MM160's are all you need to start CNCing.   Please note - the MM160 is shipped with Molex plug on connectors.  These are more secure and reliable than screw top connectors when assembled correctly.  Screw top connectors are available at no cost in place of the Molex plug on connectors.  Included with each order is sufficient terminals and molex housing for each MM160.   An optional heat sink kit is available.   For MM160 technical information (pdf):        MM160 Technical Brief For MK4c technical information (pdf):            MK4c Technical Reference For MK5 technical information (pdf):            MK5 Technical Brief            Technical Specifications MM160 Single Axis  bipolar stepper motor driver  3.5A/phase continuous Uses the TRB6560 bipolar driver chip 1, 2, 1/8, 1/16  microstepping modes supported Step, direction inputs Optional resistors can be installed to map signals to TB6560 RSTS and Enable signals I2C interface with on board I2C command recognition Compatible with MK1, MK4, MK5, MK54 and MK200 controllers 24-37VDC motor drive Dimensions 1.50x2.50 in MK5 PC parallel port compatible interface (DB25) Five limit switch inputs or Four limit switch inputs and one eStop input Two auxiliary open collector outputs I2C communications feature  CPLD signal remapping possible 9VDC input fro external source Dimensions 8.0x1.60 in Warranty The MK5 and five MM160's come with a 90 day warranty and a 7 day return policy.  If not completely satisfied simply return the unit in the original packaging for a full refund (less shipping charges).  Canadian customers will be charged 5% GST or applicable HST and BC customers 12% HST.   This is a new unit direct from the manufacturer and includes warranty and technical support.  The heat sinks pictured above are not included in this auction.   After purchasing, pay instantly with your credit card through PayPal!
