DESCRIPTION

First of all, I'm assuming its a desiccator underneath the valve, because that makes sense and when you shake the unit, it sounds like it's filled with color-changing stuff that soaks up moisture. Oh and I removed it from a plastic housing that protected a laser, so it's a pretty safe bet.
