This Brown & Sharpe 6" chrome satin tempered steel rule is marked 599-314-605. On the trademark side, the six inches are scaled on upper edge as 10 (.10), while the lower edge is scaled as 100 (.01). On the back side the upper edge is scaled 32 (by thirty-seconds) and the lower edge is scaled 64 (by sixty-fourths).
Label reads as follows: Lot Number: 029924 EDP Number: 54282 3/32 x 1 1/4 36 inch 09271 No. 496, still in the plastic sleeve. I don't know if you can read the red label, but it says "analysis: AISI 01, chromium, tungsten, vanadium tool steel; structure: fully spheroidized for best machinability".
