I am offering 10 cream Brabanter hatching eggs from 2 unrelated breeding groups which makes it a perfect start for anybody wanting to further preserve this fancy poultry breed.  Cream Brabanter  Is a Dutch breed of chicken originating in the historic region of Brabant which straddles Belgium and the Netherlands. In a few paintings from the 1670s by Dutch artist Melchior d'Hondecoeter, appear what would seem to be Brabanters. The original form of the Brabanter nearly went extinct in the early 20th century. The few remaining birds were interbred with their close relative, the Dutch Owlbeard, and the breed was recreated by 1920. The Brabanters that were produced through the interbreeding were somewhat smaller than the originals. Today, it is a rare breed which is practically non-existent outside of Continental Europe. The distinguishing characteristics of the Brabanter are its conspicuous crest and beard. Its crest is unlike that of most other crested breeds, such as the Polish, in that it stands straight up. It has a V-shaped comb and cavernous nostrils. The bird's shanks are slate blue. There are winter hardy and an excellent layer of large, round white eggs These are very efficient, friendly, stunning birds. They always get a lot of attention from visitors and are favorites of mine. 4 hens to 1 roo unrelated. 2 hens to 1 Roo in the 2nd pen. Eggs are never washed. I test all my eggs for fertility thanks for looking! These are not hatchery birds. One group comes from local poultry conservancy, the other from 2 local snowbird breeders. NPIP I double box and individually wrap each egg.
