For the longest time we thought he was a she, as HE grew up. He has what we call a ''HEN HEAD'' Most roosters don`t have a head with so much fluff that you can`t, see their eyes but Basil does. No matter how you looked at him you couldn`t see his eyes. So we gave him a hair cut after his pictures were taken. Its easier for him to see the girls now :) Check out his pictures below. You will see he has a beautiful dark burgundy berry, and fantastic violet blue ear lobes. (Both things are a must in a show quality rooster) Keep in mind he`s only 5 months old in this picture. See Below Check out our PANDAS Our panda babies are born with white wings and a gray body. But boy do they change. So far we have Pandas coming out in 3 distinct colors... As our black and white Pandas loose their down, the gray backs and necks turn white, the wing feathers go a very dark blue, almost black. The bodies end up PURE WHITE. The head feathers are white and dark blue. Our next color Panda is a Lavender, pale lavender body, dark dark lavender wing tips. Head feathers are dark lavender and white. Our 3rd color, is a honey yellow and white. The body is pure white, the wing tips are a rich golden honey. The head is a rich honey and white. We never know what we will get. Its always a surprise. We have even gotten PANDA silkies. I will have to update some of my pictures. The birds are turning out outstanding. Pictured Below... Now for the boys Our Roosters have so much fluff on their heads, most times you can't even see their eyes. Sometimes they acutally look like hens with those big luffy heads. WOW LOOK! Yes we actually have a Calico Rooster in our breeding flock. It's hard to get an idea of the size of the bird, just seeing a shot of them in the yard. So I grabbed my Orange bird, Sorbet (that's him in the picture above) and I took a picture of him with a ruler. As you can see I have really nice sized birds. Now for the Silkie Show Girls To me they look like a tiny minature Ostrich :) FYI Some Show Girls have beards, side burns and bowties, some are very extreme and clean shaven. We breed both styles in all colors. I put in pictures of both styles. I think the Show Girl Silkies are my favorite. I love the extreme look. Below 8 Days old Silkie Partridge Show Girl chick.
