You're looking at a rotary-style 3 Phase converter rated at 60 HP as indicated on the label, made by Allied Electric Motor Service, Inc. It converts 220V or 240V single phase ( 60 Hz household type with 2 hot wires) into 230V 3-Phase for machines that need it. I bought it 6 months ago to use it with a large Haas CNC lathe, and I tested the lathe with it and it all worked fine.

This unit is from a military outpost, it appears to be in good condition but I do see some sand residue in it that looks like desert sand. The release paper says that the unit is functional but we are not able to test it to confirm that. On the unit there is a hand written tag that reads "Needs CPCVX" bu I dont know what that is.
