I've been asked to sell a major collection from Central Maine. There are more than 50 steam gauges, over 30 flyball governors - some quite large, steam toys, scientific items and lots of brass. These are all fresh to the market, direct from the garage, shed and attic. Check my listings often or contact me if you have a specific need. OLD TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES PRESENTS The brass tag on the case lid reads BACHARACH Industrial Instruments Co, and the indicator itself is marked MAIHAK. I've never seen one of these before and of all the indicators I have sold this is by far, the most complex and most complete. *** A most knowledgeable collector has contacted me and offered this information: It appears that there are two pistons in the case. Unless I am mistaken, this indicator is designed for use on both steam and internal combustion engines. The smaller piston would allow the springs to be used with the higher pressures that occurred in internal combustion engines. There might be two pressure ratings on each spring. Also, I suspect the oil reservoir was provided for when this instrument was used on an internal combustion engine. 29 accessories, including the original key! Also some parts on the device I've not seen before: what appears to be a force feed lubricating device, an oil reservoir with a delicate chain holding the cap and a separate large valve. All in all a remarkable collection. The case is sturdy, well worn oak in very nice condition noting a crack across the top which is cosmetic not structural. The case measures 11 1/2" by 10" by 5 1/2" and overall weight is almost 18 pounds. Winner pays only actual cost for careful packing, full insurance and shipping. Offered With NO RESERVE !
