I've been asked to sell a major collection from Central Maine. There are more than 50 steam gauges, over 30 flyball governors - some quite large, steam toys, scientific items and lots of brass. These are all fresh to the market, direct from the garage, shed and attic. Check my listings often or contact me if you have a specific need. OLD TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATES PRESENTS This governor represent an interesting 'snapshot' of a transitional period in early technology. It is virtually identical to a 1" VICKSBURG governor I current have for sale on eBay. But, whereas the 1" has VICKSBURG embossed on the valve, this one does not. Rather this one has a nickeled (?) plate on the top of the boss that reads: THE-NEW-JUDSON GOV., VICKSBURG, MICH 5949X. Was Vicksburg taken over by Judson or simply renamed? Either way, this is a very unique piece. About 17 1/2" tall, by 13" wide and it weighs 24 pounds. It features a large flat boss for mounting the governor to an engine, and the small intricate bevel gear speed adjuster. Marked 350 REV, one wall of the pulley has a chip missing. There is a mount for an arm and idler pulley, they are not present. Gears mesh cleanly with no broken teeth and turning the pulley easily spins the flyballs.
