Artist statement - Rhythm Rhythm - June 2015 I did lot of research for the hard hat project. Everyone shared their ideas related to the project. Being a law student I was more concerned why does the workers wear hard hat? I did research about Workplace law "it is the obligation of the organization to deal with the representatives at their work." Charter rights - SECTION 7 "LIFE TO LIBERTY AND SECURITY". Then I discovered the reason behind wearing hat. I discovered that it is for the safety of the workers. In the event that they don't wear the hat they can get brain injuries. In fact they can get numerous wounds or inabilities. At that point, I thought about the fascinating structures, which are secured under UNESCO. I discovered one of the exceptionally lovely building which was Church of Kizhi in Russia. I admired the composition of the church and in addition the way that it is made of wood. Nails were not used to build the church. I considered making Kizhi on the hard hat on the grounds that this was my last thought and the other reason was that the church had tombs on top of it, which was extremely unique. My first thought was to make a collage of tools, which are used for construction. In any case then I thought it was a literal idea. At that point of time, I thought of making exploration on law and science. I considered building brain inside the cap and considered demonstrating the law side on the outside of the cap. My third idea was to make Church of Kizhai on top of the cap. I considered making a Kizhi structure by utilizing ice- cream sticks.Anyhow later I understood that it may not be a smart thought in light of the fact that the hat has lot of curves. It can make my work little messy. At that point I thought of demonstrating the idea of construction in developing and' developed countries. I utilized acrylic paint to finish the drawing on the hat. I utilized silver duct tape on top and around of the cap. I isolated the cap into two sections. I demonstrated one side as Canada (structures, under- development streets, pathway, innovation and so on and on the other side I indicated cottages, streets made up of rocks and sand. I demonstrated how there is no gear. Individuals need to do parcel of work to build the houses, building. I used acrylic and indelible marker to add points of interest to my drawing. I liked this project because we did this project for the good cause. This thought relates with me in light of the fact that I have lived in India and have seen the construction around. I came to Canada two years prior. So, I thought it was the best idea to share. For instance- a house in Canada would take most likely 6 months to get built. While, in India, it takes around two or three years to develop one house. I thought it was the best idea to differentiate the developing and the developed countries. Anyhow, I am still not fully satisfied with my work on the grounds that I thought I could add more details to my work. I am not satisfied with my drawing. Be that as it may I have chosen to· set aside a few minutes. I will work on my drawing next time on an alternate paper and after that I will exchange it on the primary spot of drawing. It would make more inventiveness and also the perfect and clean drawing on the cap. As per me, I have made a decent showing however I would not say that I did a great job on the hard hat. I am going to University of Guelph for Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice.
