Eberline RM 14S digital alarming rate meter with analog meter display. ( Digital C.P.U. based instrument with analog meter display. ) Many advanced features. Dead time correction. ( set time using scale on meter by selecting DEAD TIME and set using volume control knob.) Detector saturation sensing. Variable high voltage 300-2500 Volts. 9 Set voltage on meter dial by selecting HIGH VOLTAGE and adjust through small hole on front panel with included tool. ) Variable alarm set point . ( Set on meter dial by selecting ALARM using volume control knob if set beyond scale alarm will not sound has both sound and red led light on front panel.) Variable response time. ( Set on meter dial by selecting response using volume control knob.) Variable speaker volume. ( Adjusts click volume and has no affect on alarm volume if enabled.) Battery backup. ( has AA size NiCad battery pack can also use gel cell battery but charging voltage must be set for if type changed instruction and voltage in owners manual.) Single channel PHA analyzer. ( Can be on used or off not used instructions in users manual / not used setting currently.) Analog meter. ( Driven by digital to analog converter.) Six decade range selector (0-50 C.P.M. lowest to 0- 5,000,000 FIVE MILLION C.P.M. ( FIVE MILLION C.P.M. is beyond the saturation point of most scintillator probes.) Built in 10mV pulse generator. ( Built in self calibration pulse generator instruction for use in owners manual.) Recently calibration checked no adjustment required can be set on only one decade and will be correct on all since it is CPU based however it was checked on two points on all decades. Designed to be a bench instrument but makes a great portable that can be used on backup battery only in the field. I used it primarily for the power supply to drive a computer based Gamma spectrometer then pulled out the scintillator for background monitoring alarm. It also has the aluminum knobs supplied by factory for locations that tampering could occur which replaces the plastic pull off knobs. Can be used with scintillation, Geiger, and air proportional detector probes. Includes RM 14S instrument, coil cord with BNC/MHV compatible fittings instrument is MHV, power cord, tool for high voltage adjustment setting, user/owners manual in PDF format on CD disc.
