This auction is for an ESI (Electro Scientific Industries) DB655 Dekabox.  This precision resistance is adjustable in 1 Ohm Steps from 0 to 1,199,999 Ohms with 6 decade rotary switches.  With an overall manufactured accuracy of +/- 0.05%.  This particular unit S/N 95604 tests out good.  All decades work and the resistors all appear to be well within the +/-0.05 specification (I do not have proper equipment to measure the lowest two decades to their full accuracy, however, I used an ESI 261 Impedance Comparator to test this unit against another identical unit that I happen to have, and both units compared to within +/-0.02% of each other on all ranges).   All the resistors used in this unit are hand wound and trimmed to accuracy.  They are wire-wound resistors, but they are wound in a fashion that minimizes inductance, so this standard is very good for doing Audio work. This unit is in excellent shape with no dings, only minor cosmetic wear.  Also, no labels were ever affixed to the units, so none of that mess. Electro Scientific Industries used to be Electro-Measurements Inc.  The name was changed when ownership of the company changed.
