"Occupying a floor space of just 65" x 32.5 inches ( 1650 x 825 mm) and with an 18" x 6" (450 x 150 mm) table capable of moving 19 inches (480 mm) longitudinally and 6.75 inches (170 mm) in traverse the 540 grinder was ideally suited to most smaller toolroom jobs. The cross slide was supported on two V ways with a feed rate of 0.007" to 0.07" (0.175 to 1.75 mm) per minute at each reversal of the longitudinal stroke.
I've had this for years and used it often, Cosmetically it showed wear, mechanically it's fully operational. It wouldn't hurt to get some new o rings and freshen the seals but will fill boxes fine just prime the tube with proper thinned mud as with any pump. Let the pictures determine the condition.
I haven't used this taper in about 3 yrs, but the last I remember it worked fine. It just leaked around the head a little. The filler inlet is dented as can be seen in photo, but it will fit in pump & fill up fine still.
