This large, 3-3/8" diameter, 3 LED lighted inspection mirror is perfect for boiler, welding, under dash... inspection as well as shop press work. When aligning a, spindle, transmission housing, spool, etc, to press bars or our X-BARS you need to get under and look up to center the workpiece. I personally broke an expensive Scagg Mower electric clutch bearing do to misalignment. Never again. With this telescoping 3 LED lighted inspection mirror there is no need to bend way over, while looking up with flashlight, all the while reaching up to move the workpiece and/or heavy press bars closer together or farther apart. Simply turn on LED lights, extend large 3-3/8" mirror about 20", angle mirror head, and easily make fine adjustments while standing. Comes with extra battery. Note regarding fit: Measure your inside, front to back, bed gap. These 4 bars are intended for use on 20 ton presses with, front to back, gap of about 4.25" or 7.25 ". Be sure to use all 4 bars on the wider (7.25") gap presses. X-BARS can be used as a "topper" over your existing plates up to 150 tons. Details The 4 graduated notches in our press plate are designed to perfectly fit and support shaft diameters of 1/2 ”, 1”, 1-1/2" and 2” but accommodate all diameters from very small up to 6". Choose the correct notch size by using the largest notch that will fit around the workpiece without the plate edges touching each other. The whole idea is to get as much “grip” as possible on, often narrow hubs, flanges, shaft shoulders, and perhaps most critically, delicate ball bearing inner races. Certain press operations will require a bearing separator to “reach in” to grab an inner race, hub, shoulder, flange or other workpiece feature. Even in this case, our notches will more closely support the bearing splitters’ working edges. Cheaper bearing separators require more support than the very high priced superior one. Common press plates have large notches and huge semicircular cutouts that don’t even do a good job of backing up a bearing separator. We are presently writing an article about the inadequacy of the common press plate "cutouts". It’s a long explanation, but press tooling is changing and this is a brand new achievement in press accessory SYSTEMS. The last picture shows 4 plates spread across a press bed to fully support a press brake metal bending accessory.
