Hamamatsu R9420 PMT Photomultiplier Tube that has been modified with a new 80 MegOhm Voltage Divider and BNC END CAP installed. This setup works well with many battery operated survey meters and USB or battery powered High Voltage Bias Power Supplies. These PMTs work well with Ludlum meters, Gamma Spectacular HV Bias Drivers, and Theremino PMT adapter. Ships with the Hamamatsu Data Sheet. These are PMTs that normally sells for hundreds of dollars when purchased new. These PMTs are great for Scintillation Counting and for Gamma Spectrometry. The last three pictures show gamma spectrum of Cs137, Am241, and Co60. Normal operating voltage is 900 to 1400 volts (Maximum recommended 1500 volts). Each tube leaves my lab tested and guaranteed to satisfy. The R9420 is a 1.5 inch (38mm) diameter, Head-on type, Bialkali photocathode. The maximum spectral response is 300 to 650 nm, peaking near 420nm, great for use with NaI, plastic, or many other scintillators. This configuration ships with BNC END CAP already installed, other connectors are available upon request. Custom Voltage Dividers are also available upon request.
