This is a rare Ludlum model 16 single channel spectrometer with biometric flow for complex readings. It is also a VERY nice Geiger counter, and will fulfill a major need in every health physicists toolkit. It is currently set to detect plutonium 241 on the analyzer; via the Am241 decay algorithm. Instead of looking for an isotope which emits only alpha, we have to find an isotope with an alpha signature which is always in the presence of plutonium if we want to be able to find plutonium with it. Since Am241 can have plutonium removed from it; but the opposite is not the same, bam. This is why analyzers Rock. I will leave the settings as is... So when you use this device to search for plutonium, my guess it that you will get many false positives.... Smoke detectors and all, you know? THE 44-10 probe is amazing. Don't miss it at this price. The mod 16 is also amazing, don't miss it at this price! The probe and meter can be used for other probes and meters, obviously. You will love this. It's meant for field use!
