You are bidding on an exceptionally nice, freshly machined model of a 2 1/4hp Associated Hired Man engine. This model was machined within the last year, by an expert model builder, who has turned out, I believe he told me over 100 models. This engine was done right, no shortcuts taken or roughly machined anything. It starts and runs great, almost fires as slow as a real 2 1/4hp engine! He also made a heavy brass pulley for it, which allows it to coast for about 1 or 2 seconds longer than it would with no pulley. He also went to the trouble of making a very well made, wooden storage box, with handles, and latch. The engine has great compression, no blowby whatsoever. This model hasn't been run at shows for 30 years and wore out, this is a NEW engine. Flywheels run true, fires strong and coasts nice before firing again. The muffler is the correct one for this model. Coil is built into the base, all you need is a good battery and some gas, and oil. The oiler on it is a really nice swingtop style and it works, I used it while running the engine in the video. Gas tank fits inbetween the base nicely. Carburetor works just as it should, as well as choke. If your looking for a model you dont have to mess with to get going this is it, it's ready to hit the shows next summer! Flywheels measure 6" and total length of skids is 16", engine stands 8 1/2" tall. Feel free to ask questions.
