This is a RCA 430 vacuum photo diode tube. It may be used to calibrate Geiger counters with. Just bias it with 300 to 1000V with a 3.3 meg limiter resistor in a light tight housing with pinhole, then use a strobe with a known FPM rate. You will read it out as counts per minute on your Geiger counter. What is nice is that it simulates a real Geiger tube signal fairly accurately. Line coupling is 3.6 KCPM, so that alone makes a handy calibration signal to feed your strobe. In fact this is what i used to calibrate my counters before i got my Eberline bench pulser. I have lots of lasers, other Geiger counters, and other unique stuff for sale this week.
