An absolutely  AWESOME  115 year old  7 piece  collection of BABCOCK & WILCOX Industrial Steam Boiler components !!!!! RARE to find all together with historical background.   First......the history.    I acquired this 7 piece collection from a gentleman in Bayonne New Jersey. He is now retired  but enjoys working in a very large 4 car , 2 story garage and workshop. He is in the process of thinning out his very large eclectic collection of tools and industrial hardware. In 2007- 2008 he was charged with the task of removing and scrapping the 2 HUGE Boilers from the basement of an abandoned jewelry  factory know as the RICHARDSON BUILDING located at 50-60 Columbia Street. Newark , New Jersey. Since  converted to a 7 story 67 unit Condominium complex, now known as the Richardson Lofts Apartments.   He told me he and his crew removed two huge Boilers from the buildings basement,  one boiler,  No. 76  was installed in 1899 and the other boiler , No.77 was installed in 1900.   He was paid well for his work and kept a few souvenirs to remember the project.  Pictured and for auction are the items he no longer wanted. The B&W Steam gauge is massive !!! Measures 14  1/2 " in diameter surrounded by a solid brass bezel with original antique glass. Registers 0-300 PSI pressure.  3 screws hold the bezel to the 4 " deep housing and can easily be removed for bezel removal and glass cleaning. VERY HEAVY.    Please also find the 2  large Boiler Name Plates  Each exactly the same , also made of  1/4" thick heavy solid brass. Each has the B&W Logo in the center oval surrounded proudly by 75 patent dates. One was fastened to each of the boilers. Each measures 26 1/2" and 6" at the oval.  Included in this collection are the Boiler Number Plates. No. 76 and No.77 each measuring 5 1/2" x 3 ".  Two Brass Boiler  Spec.  plates are also present !!! All Boiler specs are hand stamped into the plates. Each measures 7' x 3". All solid brass.   One dated 1899 Job No. 3034 and the other dated 1900 , job No. 3559. This is a fine collection of American Industrial history. All items exhibit age patina. Keep as is or polish to your liking. Either way a winner !!!  Thank you for looking and please see our other vintage items and tools offered on E-bay.
