this listing is for a 1930s vintage sears companion cast iron bench top drill press in very nice original condition with original decal and blue paint, no rust, clean post with smoothly moving platform and motor mount. this drill comes with a clean functional 1/4 hp 5.2amp 115v westinghouse motor and on/off switch. the original Jacobs #34 1/2" chuck with key does not open and close properly - it seems as though something is misaligned refusing to allow it to close down all the way.
This is a heavy duty 20" floor model Rockwell drill press, Model 70-6X0. It has eight speeds with the stepped pulleys, and is currently wired for 460V with a locking plug as seen in the photos. The motor can be switched to 230V (the wiring plate on the motor shows the connections) but the transformer in the magnetic starter would have to be swapped for a 240V to 24V transformer vs the current 460V to 24V transformer.
