These work great with plastic scintillators, but they are high resolution PMTs, so combining with a spectrometry quality scintillator crystal will provide a great detector for gamma spectrometry use.

This is a very nice photomultiplier tube that will make a nice scintillation detector for many common Ludlum geiger counters. It needs 660 to 2150V; best at 800v to1800v to work. You can make a voltage divider to use it with most common geiger counters using several 10 meg ohm 1/4W resistors and some ballast capacitors for the last three stages.
